My view of the Sierra Nevada Mt range from the cafe at David Walleys Hot Springs Resort.
Whether it's fine dining in the main restaurant or breakfast at the cafe, the food has been superb.
And of course the views are beautiful. You can stay at the resort or just stop in for a dip in the hot springs. And then take the mile or so stroll to the historic town of Genoa NV.
Roughly 45 minutes over the hill from South Lake Tahoe or an hour from Reno.

"This is our 3rd Visit to Lake Tahoe with our Family of 4 from New Orleans. The Hyatt 2 bedroom condo was spacious, clean, well maintained, with great customer service. The Hyatt Sierra Lodge was a perfect location with great activities for everyone - walking trails, the Beach, hiking, biking, snow capped mountain views, cool dry air, perfect sunny skies, visiting all over Lake Tahoe including Incline Village, Heavenly, Emerald Bay, Tahoe City, Squaw Valley, and King's Beach. "The room didn’t have a microwave or fridge which was annoying, the property also did not have any available drinking water whatsoever which was also inconvenient but everything else about our stay was excellent! Very clean, safe, quiet, and amazing location."
