"I’m not sure if the hotel was in a state of renovation or just poorly maintained. It seemed that some things were new like fresh hallway carpet. Our room had only the beds- no additional sitting furniture. The shower was dirty and the beds were poorly made. The curtain didn’t fit the window. When we arrived the dirty towels and linens from housekeeping lined the hallway- not a great impression. There was a distinct smell throughout- air freshener plug ins were all along the hallway which seems to indicate an effort to hide the smell. The website had breakfast was provided but there was nothing. The front desk check in and out was quick and the clerk was pleasant."

"The man at the front desk was difficult to understand. There was basically no water pressure in the sink, thank goodness the shower was good. The water was kinda funky, could use a softener or something. When I told the clerk about the pressure, nothing was done. I'm glad it was fairly reasonable"

Inside, we were welcomed with delicious baked goods—a thoughtful touch that set the tone for our stay. It’s clear the hosts genuinely care about making guests feel at home. The living room was perfect for relaxing, with views of tall trees and an open cornfield where we even spotted a hawk or eagle hunting—an unforgettable sight.The kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked, far beyond most rentals. It had everything we needed: cookware, utensils, seasonings, foil for grilling, and even bottled water. The grill was easy to use and made outdoor cooking especially enjoyable, surrounded by birdsong and quiet woods.The property itself is stunning. A serene creek sits at the bottom of a steep hill, with natural tree bridges and plenty of shade from mature trees. It felt untouched and incredibly peaceful.There’s also plenty to do: a hot tub under the stars, a game-filled garage with ping pong and darts, and a basement pool table with a TV. Families will appreciate the extra beds and toys as well.One highlight was the sturdy swing at the edge of the property—we spent more time there than expected.Overall, our stay was exactly what we needed: peaceful, refreshing, and memorable. We’d love to return, especially in the fall. Thank you again for a wonderful weekend!"

"Shady people staying there were loud and had barking dogs all night. People smoking cigarettes at the front entrance every time I went in or out. "

"We had an excellent romantic weekend get away at this property. Tucked away and hidden amongst the trees, it's the perfect spot to relax and forget about all your worries. There's also a park not 5 minutes away thats perfect for hiking and taking in the beautiful scenery. Ed was a great host, he showed us around, told us everything we needed to know, even gave us recommendations on places to visit while we were in the area. We definitely plan on visiting again."

"This place totally was a wonderful serene getaway experience! The owner was probably the best host we had ever had and totally made us feel at home! So much wildlife which was beautiful. Please take the time to visit this place but know that it is like camping so you will see insects and/or animals - which we totally didn’t care cause we love the outdoors! This host will treat like no other ;) We will go back! "
