"Staff was very nice, however beds were not that comfortable. You can hear neighbors tv next door and across the hall. Walls are very thin."

"Pros: The beds were wonderful, soft and comfortable. Location was great, easy access to the highway and very quiet. Bathroom fixtures, especially, looked new. Cons: We were told upon our evening arrival that the elevators didn’t work, and so we would have to carry our luggage upstairs. We are seniors with disabilities, so that was not good news. They couldn’t switch us to a first-floor room because we had booked through Expedia, but we could get our money back and go somewhere else. After traveling all day, we weren’t up to trying to find another hotel, so we made the 2 or 3 trips up the stairs. The desk clerk came off as rude, although I don’t think he meant to be. The tv turned itself off at midnight and would not come back on. Not sure if this is a hotel setting to keep it quiet at night, but for travelers trying to keep tabs on dangerous weather patterns, it was inconvenient. We didn’t eat the breakfast, but it looked like the usual fare. Overall, though, we would stay here again, mostly because a truly comfortable bed is hard to find while traveling, and, hopefully, they’ll get their elevators fixed or hire a temporary bell hop."

"We were very pleased with our stay at Comfort Inn. Receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and had several options. Would stay there again on our next visit to ISU. My only complaint would be, I think it's time to replace some of the mattresses, they weren't terrible but could tell they were getting flat on the sides."

"The front desk service here is exceptional; the gentleman who checked me in was amazing and truly made me feel at home. I really appreciated the hot food options for breakfast in the lobby, and while there wasn't an outdoor dining area, there was a great grassy spot outside that was perfect for my dog. Very welcoming stay!"

"Beds and pillows were very comfortable with really soft sheets. I’m not sure about amenities- we didn’t have a chance to use the pool area due to maintenance. The staff never mentioned anything about a breakfast and we had to leave early so never checked to see if one was available. Only negative was having a room right by the elevator and ice machine which you could hear."

"The breakfast area was not clean and some of the hot food looked like it was left over from the weekend. It was not up to the usual standards of this hotel chain."

"The front desk staff was very friendly every time I had to visit the desk. The room was clean. The pool was perfect for my little granddaughter. The hot tub was one of the hottest I have ever been in. The pool was a good temperature as some hotel pools are a little colder than I prefer. The pool area might have needed some new atmosphere as at one time it might have had more plants and decor but now just a few average looking tropical plants and some furniture that maybe needed a good sanding and cleaned up a bit but still had lots of life in them. The beds and bedding were comfortable. The location was easy enough to get to but the signage for check in might need to be better marked. The very first time we stayed at The Gateway we drove around several times before we found a check in area under a canopy or underpass looking area that we thought might have been an entrance to a parking garage and while we where here we noticed another vehicle doing the same thing. But after our first day we found another entrance on the other side of the building where you park that was much easier to use and closer to the elevators. It also has nice little short walking path if you just want to be outside. The patio area did not have any furniture outside at the time we were there in early May except for 2 plastic chairs but there was a nice little waterfall back there. Aside from no continental breakfast, I would say this hotel marked every box we look for in a hotel."

"The room was very nice. We didn't use the kitchen but it looked pretty bare bones in the cabinets. there appeared to be enough to do some very basic cooking. The continental breakfast was okay but nothing special. We still give it a 5 star because of the cleanness, friendliness and being very comfortable. We will be back."
