"Our stay was excellent. Highly recommend for people with young kids. The food was better than we expected and there was always an open food option. Our only issue was a small one; they wouldn’t let you help your kids at the waterpark up the stairs or to get on the slides. The lifeguards didn’t seem to care to enforce any other rules, but would blow their whistles and yell the second an adult stepped on, which 99% of the time was to help a crying/scared child."

"First time to Mexico and was not expecting that level of service, amenities, and cleanliness of the resort. We were fortunate enough to go when the spring break crowds were gone so while there were still other tourists it was not overly congested. There attention to detail was amazing."

"We’ve been coming to the Barcelo for more than 20 years. We were very surprised to see how rundown it had become and how poorly it was maintained. The food was mediocre, at best, meats every day were dried out and we watched other guests sawing to cut pieces off. Our room was not cleaned and no clean towels provided 2 of our 7 days there. In addition, the gift shop at the pool area completely ripped us off. There was no price tag on a 6oz bottle of sunscreen and shame on us for not asking the cost. We anticipated paying $20 or so, which would have been more than double its store cost,especially since we’re guests, but when the charge appeared on our credit card, they had charged us $56!!! We thought it must be a mistake, but no, rip your guests off and extort them. Needless to say, we will not ever be returning to the Barcelo."

"We visited TRS Yucatán for our honeymoon it took over an hour and a half to check in . The upsell was so much pressure almost unbearable. Then everything in this resort you had to have a ride to so spread out. I booked a room with a private garden pool not so private we could hear and see everything from the guests 2 rooms down. Our room every time you entered has a strong musty odor. The actual beach was a half hour walk away. Food was just so so with the exception of hellus restaurant for buffet breakfast and lunch. We ended up checking out after three days of our week booked ( no refund). We went to a wonderful resort in Cancun instead. Would not ever refer anyone to this resort. I feel as if I threw away 5000. Dollars "

"Large resort with lovely covered walkways throughout the resort. Very serene and family friendly. Several pools to enjoy and great snorkelling right off of the beach! Remember to bring beach shoes as the beach has some rocky areas. There is a doubled decker bus that runs every 15 minutes or so, that stops at the lobbies of each of the 6 sister resorts. You can also walk from one end of the sister resorts to the other end in about 20 minutes. Lots of choice at the food buffets and beach side snack bars. You must be dried off and wearing a shirt or other cover up clothing to eat at the beach side snack bars. You cannot take food back to the beach. The a la carte restaurants were all very good as well, lots of choice on the menus. Book your a la carte reservations at guest services immediately upon arrival. There is a mall in the middle of the resort with a Mexican Plaza next door for all souvenir shopping needs. Strikers is a sports bar (all ages welcomed) that is opened 24 hours a day with food and beverages available, located in the mall just off of the Caribe lobby. The only thing missing at this resort, in my opinion, is a coffee bar but there are different types of coffees available at the buffets and beach side snack bars. If you are looking for a relaxing place to unwind, this is the perfect resort!"
