"Great position, walkable to the sea front but quiet. Lovely rooms, great breakfasts, freindly hosts and with the added bonus of parking. Will stay again."

"The property was as in pictures apart from the entrance, which was around the back of the property on an uneven surface and up a steep metal wet staircase. Would suggest slated blinds as the sun makes the property very hot especially at the velux window above the sink.
Overall, a pleasant stay in a lovely sea side town. "

"We stayed here for a couple of nights on a short tour of the Jurassic Coast. The location is spectacular and you can almost step out onto the beach. There is a lovely bay window which you can sit in and watch the world go by listening to the sound of the waves. If only this had been a nice padded seat, I might not have wanted to leave. Parking is a bit of a problem in Lyme Regis but there was no noise from the restaurants below, which I thought might be a problem"

"The Apartment, was quiet and just the right size for one or two people to stay in. The town was walkable to the town, but it was the hills coming back up. There was no onsite parking and it was pop lucky if you got a space on the road."

"The property was fantastic but had a problem with the carpet but was sorted straight away.
Everything you need home from home.
Little wall to the town. Pubs and restaurant where fantastic food served. Cant say we had a bad meal. We would recommend it to everyone. "

"What an amazing place to stay! Close to many activities but at the same time a lovely quiet location. Very well equipped with lots of DVD choices, board games and everything you need to maintain your stay. The beds and bedding was my highlight one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in for years! Will definitely be back, thanks for having us."

"The property is located on a site which includes a hotel and a group of small private homes. None of which is a negative. The area is very quiet, but you definitely need a car.
The surrounding area is sensationally beautiful and well worth a visit and we enjoyed our trips out very much.
The property itself was disappointing. It looked good on paper, but the moment we opened the front door, it was smelly.

"Family feel to this charming old hotel. Built in 1600s. Short walk to the beach. Surrounded by shops and pubs/ restaurants.Large free carpark. Excellent food and lovely staff. We had a large en-suite bedroom which was a little dated but very comfortable bed and very clean. Tea, coffee and biscuits filled up each day. Hidden gem was a swimming pool and jacuzzi which you could hire for an hour just for us. Really enjoyed our 3night stay and would love to go back."

"It tells you something that I was waiting in anticipation for the Hotels.com email just so I could get online and give Hensleigh House the five star rating it absolutely deserves. From the moment we were greeted at the door until the time we waved goodbye, our stay was first class.
The building itself is beautiful with plentiful carparking out front which made access easy if needed. Inside, the bedrooms and ensuites were immaculate. Comfortable beds, windows you can actually open to let in fresh air, and decor some of the country's top hotels would do well to take tips from. Attention to detail was such that even the box of tissues on the bedside table carried the bird motif theme of the bedroom wallpaper.
Downstairs, the shared lounge invites you in with its twinkling red lights and sofa you can sink into, and the bright breakfast room with it's big windows was a joy to come down to in the morning, if the smell of breakfast being cooked up wasn't enough on its own 🙂
Everything at Hensleigh House has the personal touch and the hosts were welcoming and friendly and made you feel that they were genuinely happy to have you there. I honestly cannot fault it and we will absolutely be going back again. In fact - I'm quite loathe to write such a glowing review in case it gets booked out!! "

"Used for a meeting point between ourselves and friends. The accommodation was clean and very quaint and ideal for our use. The welcome letter was very touching and the compliments left i.e. milk, butter bread etc was a pleasant surprise. With the fish and chip shop and pubs along the road meant that we did not have to cook during our stay. Short walk to the beach and the seashore was very pleasant we would use the accommodation again without hesitation."

The property itself was disappointing. It looked good on paper, but the moment we opened the front door, it was smelly.
The smell was a continual issue. Every time we returned from a trip, it was as though the place had been left unattended for a few weeks. There was a raised area of flooring which seemed to me to be an issue as well. Is this where it came from?
We had to open all the windows each time we got back. On the third day of our 5 night stay, we returned and the it smelt strongly of (I assume) sewerage chemicals. Opening windows cleared it, but it was the final straw so we decided to cut our losses and return home.
I had a couple of other gripes, but none would have been enough to cause us to go home early. The smell is the main complaint - an air freshener would not have sorted it.
All the correspondence I’d had, was from Sykes Cottages, I tried to contact them on their What’s App, as I wanted to let them know. I had no response - not until days after we were home. I asked them for a refund on the final two nights. I’ve still yet to hear about this, but Expedia, although, were helpful but were not able to get this from them either it seems. Not happy."
