"Rooms and location with free parking was great for the area—much more reasonable than other places we looked at. Comfortable beds, and while the breakfast wasn’t anything to write home about, it was pleasant and filling. Nice to have that covered on our first day of the trip. This place isn’t anything fancy, but it was fine. Easy bus ride into city centre. Would recommend if looking for a good, basic option."

"I enjoy a hotel that makes you feel like the location… not some generic place that looks the same in every location. The Porterhouse was great in that regard, made me feel like I was in Oxford. Clean and comfy room and great location. Staff was great and helpful in every way! Breakfast was nice. I would definitely stay again!"

"Lovely rooms. Gorgeous garden. Such an authentic experience staying above a pub. We felt part of the village by the end of our stay! Sam and her husband were incredible hosts and his food was exceptionally good! We’d go out of our way to stay here again."
