The hotel exceeded expectations. For very modest money, everything is practically impeccable. Very comfortable large room with everything you need. Excellent plumbing, comfortable large bed, balcony overlooking the ocean ... The beach opposite with a very large pebble, but in the appropriate shoes will be quite comfortable. Pestana properties are our 'go to' properties when travelling in Europe. The staff are always super friendly & helpful. Churchill Bay is a lovely authentic fishing village. The hotel has a lovely roof top restaurant. The food was fresh & very well prepared. We stayed 4 nights & dined at the hotel every night. There are many other options but we enjoyed the convenience & birds eye view of the bay's activies at the sunset.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at editory Ocean Way funchal . The rooms were very comfortable, we got a beautiful balcony with Ocean View that was spectacular. The hotel is definitely a five star . Love the bathrobes and the slippers to be able to go to the spa . Luxurious pool towels were provided. And special call out for Andrea, Mikaela and Sophia at the front desk, and Catarina in the restaurant. We prearranged a number of excursions and they helped us with all the arrangements. Great...

My husband and I stayed four nights and had a very positive experience. The staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in early. The hotel has a low density in terms of number of rooms and a relaxing atmosphere was prevalent. The breakfast buffet (included in price) was excellent and provided a good variety of good quality choices. The pool, while outdoors, was heated sufficiently to allow a swim even when the temperature was on the chilly side. The room was clean...

while the weather was beyond anyone’s control, I had such a cozy stay and was perfect for the R&R that I needed. The grounds, the room and the entire property was so delightful though there were other guests. I don’t think I saw even one! It was truly so lovely in the rooms. I think everyone was cozied up by their fires during the rainy evenings. I really loved the grocery store, though the prices are a bit higher than in store, you’re paying for the convenience of all your necessities being...

10/10 Excellent

It was lovely fine days full of comfort from the always helpful stuff, gorgeous garden to walk and relax in, and a marvelous cliff overlooking the marina and sea of Funchal. The balcony/terrace was south oriented - full of flowers in pots, with a sunshade, table and chairs - lovely place to take a glass in the evening. The only small minus was a bit of possible noise from neighbour's room, but that wasn't a problem, rather just a notice.
