"Overall very pleased with my one night stay after long drive from Scotland. Bar food was very good and breakfast was also very good! Breakfast was at 7:00 but on arriving soon after it was obvious that the bus tour passengers had been earlier as lots of buffet was awaiting refills, Down side was room was very cold on arrival and took a while to become bearable!."

"Very pleasant and helpful staff. Buffet breakfast included ready cooked bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs and all the usuals, so as much as you wanted. Good value for money. Very dog friendly including a portrait gallery of canine guests who all seemed to be enjoying themselves! Good location, not far from Salisbury, Mottisfont and more, just on the main Swindon/Salisbury road but quiet. Not posh, but would happily stay again."

"This was my second trip to the Hare and Hounds whilst traveling with work. Lovely rooms and food. Will be back for a third time."

"The room was adequate. The decorate and carpet need refreshing. Just a shame the swimming pool has restried opening times, closed for swimmi lessons. apart from that it is positioned well near the M4 and quiet."

"We loved staying in this 13th century inn. We were given a room in the original section of the inn - amazing wattle and daub walls, original timber work and wonky floors! The River Avon flows past the front of the Rose and Crown property. A beautiful settling and a privilege to be able to stay here! If you love history, this is the place to stay in Salisbury."

"We used the hotel for a one night stay plus breakfast and a meet point for a coffee with family before our journey home up north. Hotel was beautifully presented, easy to find and clean. As with most hotels that are not new, there were small picky bits around the hotel that a good housekeeper would pick up on… light bulbs out, chip on ceramic bath tub, one bath towel in double occupancy, light discoloured curtains. However, a pleasant stay, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent, beds were clean and fresh, coffee lounge/bar accommodating and with a modern feel. Great choice to stay. Would recommend 😊"
