"This is the second time I've stayed here and for a budget hotel, it cannot be beat for price or location. Literally 30 minutes from everywhere I needed to go (Martinsville, Roanoke, Moneta). Staff is EXCELLENT! The first room we got had AC that only had one of the two fans working and the bathroom faucet had a tiny stream that shot off to the right of the main stream. We were immediately offered another room. Didn't partake of the breakfast because Bojangles is right down the road and when I'm in town, it's the only breakfast I want. Nice pool, though the painted liner was coming off. Again, for what it is, it's a comfortable stay and if you need something, the staff is incredibly helpful."

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Rocky Mount by IHG

"Guests in the room above ours allowed their children to run, jump and stomp around their room at all hours of the night. Hotel staff were unable to control the situation. Lost the entire night of sleep. The next morning the hotel manager was non apologetic and close to being rude. I’ve stayed in this hotel for years (family in the area) and I’m very disappointed."

Secluded Romantic Escape near Fairy Stone State Park, Virginia

"The property and it's owner were great. I made a date change with Greg and he was accommodating and quick to respond. The drive to the property had me a little concerned, but it was a blissful surprise. The property was stocked with necessary cleaning and cooking supplies. The bed was very comfortable. A short drive to Fairy stone Park."

Cozy Cabin at The Reserve near Fairystone State Park

"Angie’s cabin was a great place to stay for our short week, with our main purpose being to visit Fairy Stone State Park. It’s a great park, with a beach/swim area that’s perfect for little children. The kids loved looking for the fairy stones, plus we took a side trip to the VA Museum of Natural History in Martinsville, which had a cool dinosaur exhibit.We stayed in another cabin in The Reserve last year, and Angie’s was as good or better. Kitchen is somewhat small, but reasonably stocked. Great bed selections for adults and kids, and I will say I slept great every night. We made use of the back covered deck several times - delightful in the mornings and evenings, listing to birds and spotting a few deer. WiFi was a bit limited; it had to buffer frequently. And cell phone reception is weak. But I would guess that has more to do with the area and cell tower placement, as last year’s rental had the same issue.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to renting Angie’s house again."

"The staff were absolutely great, quick to get us settled and made sure we knew exactly where our room was, and so sweet when had to ask for batteries for the remote. It's obvious it's an older motel but the owners are working hard to make it look good. We were in a section they had not quite gotten to yet so we had to only take showers as the tub ran water through the shower and the faucet. There were water stains on the inside and outside of the bathroom door, there were a couple if holes in the wall, and it was a little cramped for 3 adults but all in all nice. The air conditioner worked a little to well for my liking but my travel companions were loving it. Only issue we really had is the trash wasn't picked up the first day and we weren't sure if we were supposed to put it out the door or if we should just continue the way we were."
