"Nice lodge for Grand Lake visitors, families. Good location. Very good breakfast in their restaurant, good bar and happy hour and decent food. Plenty of vending machines. Great deck with awesome views. Ice machine near lobby wasn't working, but staff gave me ice as needed from their kitchen. Rooms are decent and comfortable. 1 suggestion: mop or swiffer the floors (wooden) in the guest rooms after every room change. The floors were so dirty, that when I walked around barefooted and then got in the shower, I could see all the dirt my feet picked up in the room running down the drain. Disgusting. I had to wear shoes at all times in my room after that. Just mop the floors every guest changeover. The entire floor of the whole room. Inexcusable. Other than that, the lodge is very recommended."

Luxe Log Home w/ Hot Tub & Steam Shower on Private Lake

"Wonderful vacation cabin!!! Our family of 7 adults and 2 children had the absolute best week at this cabin on the lake. The proximity to Rocky Mountain allowed us several planned and a few spontaneous trips into the park to hike and see various sites. The private dock and use of several kayaks, SUP boards, and a paddle boat were great fun for the kids and adults alike, and we were surprised and pleased at the number provided. Plenty of us got out on the water at the same time. The best part was stepping out on the deck with morning coffee and seeing moose across the lake!! And then again in the evening!! It became an almost daily occurrence. Never have we been in the mountains and seen more moose than marmots. We were blown away. As far as kitchen tools, bedding, towels, etc, the cabin is more than well stocked. In fact, we talked more than once about how accommodating the host is. We walked in to a large basket of s'mores supplies, my niece practically squealed when she found the stockpile of puzzles and games in the cabinet, and we continued to find even the least little things we may need to enjoy our stay - even fishing bobbers and trout bait balls for the fishing poles in the corner. The furnishings and abundance of pillows and blankets were comfortable, and we all found all that we needed for a relaxing and fun stay. All in all, this cabin turned out to be the perfect place our family needed to spend time laughing and enjoying much needed time together. 5 stars!"
"Excellent staff who were over the top accommodating and an excellent value option for Grand lake. Will be on my short list for places in the area to stay in the future, thank you!"
"What a fantastic and beautiful stay. Great location in the woods with proximity to downtown and lakes in the area. 12 of us were able to utilize the spaces and sleep comfortably for a bachelorette stay. The space was set up with many essentials supplied such as dishes, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, first aid kit, and honor store for other potentially forgotten items. The host and management team were for communicative and helpful."
Western Road Retreat | Grand Lake Columbine | Pet-Friendly Mountain Escape
8/10 Good
"We really enjoyed the layout of the home. It made it easy with 8 of us for everyone to have a space. However, it was hot and we couldn't get the sliding door open and the other didn't have a screen, so we didn't want bugs. The upstairs was really hot. When we woke up in the morning, we noticed a bat on the floor next to the table. It flew up towards the bookshelf. It was odd because I thought I saw it the night before while watching TV, but I talked myself out of it. The management company did a great job trying to help, communicating and ultimately moving us to another property. It was only one night, a bit of a pain to move 8 people and the second property was not ideal only having two bathrooms. We ended up leaving earlier than checkout since it wasn't reasonable for us all to shower in 2 bathrooms. We just headed home to Denver early."
