"A great combination of trendy and classic. My teenage son really enjoyed the motel. The hot tub, pool, and outdoor chess were a big hit. Beds were comfortable. Only downside is not much of a breakfast option."

"Innkeepers live on property (huge plus). Shannon is a wealth of knowledge about the area and provided spot-on recommendations for our quirky interests: finding a farm-to-table restaurant (The Bench, great variety and impressive brewery choices) and a history buff’s “must-see” (Smugglers’ Notch Cave and State Park, see *Note at end). In addition to historical CCC structures and the Cave, the state park also has great facilities for folks who want to pitch a tent and explore nature. HUGE thank you to Shannon, without whom we would have missed this experience, beginning with that beautiful winding mountain pass drive through the Notch (definitely bumps up the adrenaline). *Note: Smugglers’ Notch historical importance/impact spans multiple centuries and includes crucial trade with Canada to survive Jefferson’s embargo act, a route for slaves escaping to freedom in Canada, and smuggling during the prohibition era (1920s-30s). "

"We loved staying at this property and would recommend to anyone. Me and my husband traveled with our 19 year old who truly enjoyed the lodge. It was breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful. The sauna was the highlight, along with the pool, hot tub and river. The rooms were modern and clean, with great toiletries. The views take the award, waking up to the sound of the river and a beautiful manicured property surrounded by trees, flowers, birds chirping, it was surreal to see the sunlight from our own room and enjoy a cup of tea by the river. We will come back! "

"Great resort with beautiful grounds. The area is quiet. We enjoyed the bowling and food on site. They also have a room with books and board games to borrow during your stay. The staff is amazing and super friendly and helpful. Fresh baked cookies, hot cocoa, and coffee at all times! The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We got a loft room and our only complaint was the upstairs was warm. Air conditioning is on the bottom only so it was hot at times. They had a fan available upstairs which we used to cool down loft area. Great resort!!!"
