The countryside around is spectacular for England and the people are without exception friendly and helpful. I'm perhaps biased because my family lived in Gt Ayton in the early 19th Century and although I was born in North Yorkshire today, as a visiting southerner it's very much my home ground. "The outdoor fenced off area was fantastic for our dog to have a runaround. Also the evening meal we had in the pub was excellent quality and reasonably priced too, the breakfast was also very nice and plenty of it. The staff were all very pleasant and easy to talk to. Overall we had a lovely stay, and we would recommend to friends and family. "
