"This was our 1st visit to The Owls Nest & it did not disappoint! Beautiful location with access to great walks for us & our Dog. The cottage was clean & had everything we needed. It was also a good location in terms of getting to Whitby, Saltburn & many other places. The Hosts were on hand if there was any problems, & even knocked to check we were happy with everything. If you enjoy walking & have a dog, plus prefer somewhere not too busy then this is PERFECT, beautiful scenery & lovely & peaceful!"

"The farm was spot on for our family, especially our three energetic boys - climbing hills, riding bikes, toasting marshmallows on the fire, visiting the cows. It was all great. and Deni and Joe and their family were incredibly welcoming. Would highly recommend staying here. "

"Very nice cabin and location. Could have been a 5 star trip but the cleanliness was appalling. Severe smell of mould in ensuite, extraction fans full of dirt, awful smell coming from dishwasher, and smell of sewage from kitchen drains."

"The Forge was very nice and clean but needed the finishing touches egbathroom no where to put tooth brush soap shower gel in shower shampoo etc nowhere to hang anything wardrobes we're far to high to hang anything .Wet boots and coats nowhere to put when coming in wet"

"This property and its host are simply outstanding. Located in the North Yorkshire countryside, the property is a converted barn, adjacent to the main farmhouse. While retaining the charm of the old structure, it has thoroughly modern kitchen and bathrooms. The is an en-suite bedroom on the ground floor as well as an en-suite bedroom upstairs. The upstairs bedroom and bath open to a small sitting area that overlooks the living space below. The main living area has a large television mounted on the wall, which is great for watching a film or two. There is also a wood burning stove.The hosts have ensured that the property is well-equipped with every accessory. The kitchen has beautiful cookware and a modern dishwasher. Plates and glassware are a joy. The property is beautifully decorated. The heating system keeps the space warm but ample blankets to make things cozy. Beds are extremely comfortable and the bedding first-rate.Views from the property are magnificent. Sheep and cattle dot the hillside; there are ample paths for walks. In the distance, in all directions, there are beautiful hills. We were greeted warmly by the hosts who explained the property and the area as well as answering our questions. They are attentive but also make sure to give guests their space."

"Absolutely stunning scenery, proper middle of nowhere location with footpaths and bridleways galore. Our dog particularly enjoyed the extended walks. The barn is really well done throughout, plenty of space in all areas to relax, and we loved the simplicity of the rules - no extra charges for the dog, more firewood for the log burner just left in covered bins to help yourself rather than being an extra charge. We would love to come back again!"

"Does the job if you just need a place to sleep in the area but it needs some TLC and the garden is over grown, not sure if the heating is working. I'd hace still rated it as average as lomg as your not taking the family on holiday but communication feom the host was dreadful. I shluld have tp asl a half dozen times for access info, its not necessary and it adds to the stress. No one wants to make a three hour drive without knowing they will be able to get in when they get there "
