"The lodge was perfect for 2 couples and a great base for walking in the Peak District. The lodge its self was clean and cosy and had the bonus of the hot tub to sooth achy limbs! Check in was very simple and secure & communication with the manager was fantastic and very prompt. There is a great pub 15 mins walk from the lodge The Plough Inn, which server great food , I would recommend booking to eat there as it was very busy. "Great location in the middle of the countryside. Perfect for one or two adults (3-4 might be a squeeze but you'd be fine with little ones). Heather, the host was great, and provided pro-active communication. Wood fired hot-tub was a novelty but worked great. Would highly recommend."

"Allowed to check in early. Had to pay for parking but we were given an extended time free of charge. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Gym was excellent for a hotel. Pool was lovely and clean! Breakfast in the morning was great and excellent service. Hotel is slightly dated but has an old school vibe so it suits it. All amenities available in the room. Comfortable nights sleep "

"Older building with a lot of charm and updates. The location was fantastic. It located right next to the train station but not too noisy. There’s actually a passage from the hotel to the platform. So you there in a matter of seconds. The hotel was also close to city bus stops and our tour bus (busy bus) pickup/drop-off spot."

Perfect for overnight stay

"We stayed for the night so we could catch an early flight. The room was tiny but it was comfortable and we had everything we needed. Especially like the double glazed soundproof window with the special blind which made the room pitch black. "

"Great value for money. The location is great, very close to the liverpool 1 Hotel Chocolate. I was worried it would be noisy but it really wasn’t. The free coffee and pastries in the morning was a welcome treat. Room was clean and spacious. "

"The property is under going a massive refurb to the bedrooms although we was very close to the workmen we didn't hear a thing, and the work men where very courteous, thankfully the main building is being left to its very ornate and beautiful surroundings, the breakfast deal is amazing, breakfast was good but the coffee was a bit of a let down but Mackie's is just across the road so no problem, all in all I love staying staff are great."
