I have stayed at Grand Hotel Açores Atlântico five times in the last 18 months. The staff is especially friendly and accommodating. Antonio in particular always greets you with a warm smile and an interesting fact about the island. His quick wit is a plus too! I will always stay at the Grand Hotel.

Impressive attention to detail. Rooms are small yet comfortable. They are well laid out and have all the amenities. Staff is attentive, friendly and helpful. Beautiful interior design throughout. The property is so peaceful and calm and was such a wonderful experience. We are so pleased with how everything turned out. The pool was immaculate. The food and drinks were delicious. The staff was kind and patient and were wonderful at every turn. The golden retrievers that are on the property are so sweet as well. Overall, we had an excellent time and would love to return.

Great location and very quiet even though in the heart of things

Andre at reception started us off with great hospitality and friendliness and had suggestions for several activities. The room was superb as was the hot springs pool. The hotel had the nicest indoor pool I've seen anywhere. The whole experience was very memorable

I stayed here with my boyfriend for one night and it was our favorite stay in Sao Miguel! The staff were kind and accommodating & even helped us celebrate our 3rd year anniversary. I would highly recommend this place! Extremely clean and the pool and pineapple greenhouse were amazing!

Well located near restaurants and continente supermarket. Very clean and helpful staff. The breakfast was great and also the restaurant for lunch and dinner.

Excellent experience, overall. The hotel is gorgeous and the ocean views are unbeatable. The property is very well taken care of and the staff were awesome—very friendly and accommodating. Ribeira Grande is a bit remote from Central Ponta Delgada, but everything is far away around the island anyway. A rental car is a must in São Miguel and having a car will make your experience more enjoyable all around.

this was a tremendous vacation, everything in the hotel is suited to pamper the guests. Service is impeccable, anyone you encounter whether its the chef, the waiters, front desk, spa and even the manager will smile and look for ways to be helpful. the rooms are comfortable and well equipped , the showers are small but nice especially the rainforest head. the hotel's restaurant is the best one we experienced in the islands, the spa and thermal pools are really great after a day of travelling

The only complaint was no parking available @ properly… but was advertised on description.

We have travelled a lot and for many years. I do not remember ever meeting a hotel staff that was as accommodating, kind, professional, genuinely interested in solving problems than these folks were. The only thing that matches their level of customer care in our experience is the Holiday Inn Express in Saugus Mass. near Boston. Some people may think that the location overlooking the ocean on the north shore is too secluded from the main towns, Ponta Delgada and Ribieros Grande, but we liked the fact that we could easily get there by cab or rental car if needed. This full service resort was an ideal spot to recharge and get away from crowds and noise of the more popular touristy spots.

Excellent hotel, first the location is just a stones throw away from the city square where there are many cafes, a supermarket, not too far from the marina and the airport is less than a 10mjn drive away. This is our favorite hotel on San Miguel Island, we would never consider staying anywhere else. The location is perfect, out the door to the beach, shopping and the center of it all. I must say that the included breakfast continues to amaze and I only worry about overeating. The quality of the food is excellent and there is staff to ensure all needs are met.
