"We loved our hotel. The view and location were wonderful! The room was lovely and clean. The fireplace was a nice touch. Bed was comfy as well. We look forward to coming back."

"Gorgeous condo with nice patio view. Comfortable seating. Huge beautiful bathroom but no soap for tub and besides the soap and shampoo mounted in shower only a bottle of hand soap. Showers were barely Luke warm but we did enjoy our stay. Nice town! And close to a neat winery"

"This was our overnight stay prior to entering the BWCA the next morning. We arrived fairly late and check in could not have been smoother. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was a tad small but usable. The room itself was larger than most. The included breakfast was great. Many choices and the never ran out of anything. We would definitely stay their again."

"The location, views and restaurant really blew us away. There were a few challenges with the room. We were there for 4 nights, so we had a bit of gear with us for hiking, etc, and the room was really small. The bathroom was difficult to maneuver in, because there is no where to put anything. All on all, the pluses outweighed the minuses, but it’s difficult, from the Expedia listing, to tell exactly what room you are booking, and with what amenities. I recommend going on the Cascade Lodge website...

"Clean and quiet with great "natural AC" from breeze off Lake Superior during the July "heat dome" in MN. A couple minor comments that didn't affect our stay: Deck railing has big gap on bottom and small children could fall off if not constantly attended to. Also deck screen door slightly off kilter. We loved the breakfast and lounge area with wide views of Lake. Very pleasant and helpful front desk staff. Situated right on the bike trail for great walks and rides."

"This motel is old and run down. $185.00 Is way too much for a $79.00 room. The only reason they stay booked is because every other place is full. We crossed it off our list."

"The property has shade, good access and a patio for sitting, though open and exposed to flying insects. The staff are courteous and helpful, professional. The overall condition of the property is abysmal. I don't think it serves Expedia's purposes, or the property's purposes, for that matter, to keep this physical plant as it is. It would best be leveled and replaced with a viable property that better serves its guests with something more than decrepit conditions. While the bed and towels...

"Our room was on the third floor, which offered an amazing view of the lake - exactly what we were hoping for! You do not want to miss the sunrise in the mornings from the balcony! :) We’ve been to some places where the kitchen has little to offer for appliances and simple meal prep- this place exceeded our expectations and the ice maker in the fridge was appreciated. "We got emails from the property in the days leading up to our stay and were unable to open them, so we were thankful they still had our room when we got there. We asked for a room with a bed and sofa bed - the sofa bed was very comfortable, but they didn't leave appropriate bed clothes for it so we had to improvise a bit. Lovely room. Great kitchen. Great location."

"We really enjoyed our weekend here. Quiet and secluded, but still very close to Grand Marais. A path just outside accesses a whole network of trails, we hiked to Pincushion Mountain. And the SHT connects here as well if you want to go further. The furnishings are simple in a very nice way; a folding table with two folding chairs, an electric kettle and a mini fridge are great for morning coffee or simple meals.
