"Room was clean, a good size and well appointed. There is no airconditioning though and when we stayed it was quite warm and uncomfortable to sleep. A fan is provided however it is loud. It was disappointing be informed at check-in and not at any point earlier that the gym is £20 more. Lots of parking and the staff are nice too. "

"The real asset to this lovely old hotel is its staffing . Friendly and warm . Helpful at all times . The food is really very good - had a memorable roast dinner and a tasty breakfast. The only downsides are the outside windows at the courtyard need painting . And the room was hot but a fan was provided . It can get a little noisy as it’s right in the epicentre of Bakewell but don’t let it out you off . Very dog friendly and plenty of places to walk your pooch ."

"The majority of golfers arrive for the day and do not stay overnight. The result being after 9pm, the lodge is very quiet. For some that will be a like or dislike. I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed my stay with no complaints. All the staff I met were helpful and friendly."

"There was only one member of staff there over our 2 day stay & she was really nice and helpful (she seemed to be covering reception, housekeeping & kitchen). Got to say all the public areas could do with a good hoover and the skylight in our room was covered in green algae. Our room was clean (apart from the skylights) but small. Breakfast was really poor for the price we paid. Hotel in general needs a good update as has loads of potential."
