"Easily accessible by public transportation, perfectly situated between the Old City and the Art Nouveau district, the Metropole is one of Riga's best hotels. Yet it is surprisingly affordable. Rooms are small, but the hotel dates from a time when rooms were just for sleeping. Public spaces are attractive and clean. Staff is multilingual and attentive. The "Gastropub" De Commerce 1871 should receive better notice: it's a lovely space with first class continental dishes and an excellent bar."

"This hotel doesn’t exist anymore. No one emailed or texted me to tell me. I called the number posted on the door; they said they tried to contact me, but that’s a lie, obviously— I wouldn’t have shown up there if they had. The very rude woman tried to get me to stay in a nearby hotel, but I went there to take a look, and it was filthy. "The hotel is in a very good location. Bus stop is close by so one could save money for airport transport. The quality of breakfast is very good. The staff are friendly. It is an excellent 4 star hotel. Have already recomnended it to friends."

"Everything was as good as can with covid19 going around. Breakfast was in another hotel and it was a bit crowded taking account that we have a virus at large. Also parking space was full even tho I asked before hand and the place they advised was 1/3 more expensive than they said it would be. On plus side we got a tip to park our car for free on Saturday after 17:00, near the river."
