Royalton Antigua, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort

4/10 Poor

"Disappointed! After reading all the positive comments, we booked this resort for our family vacation. Huge mistake! The buffet food is not only gross but barely any options whether you go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very FEW THINGS! Nothing available for kids. NOTHING! Prepare for the first 2 days to eat at the buffet since they won't accept you anywhere else without a reservation. The Caribbean restaurant is delicious & staff are nice there! Most of the staff look like they don't want to be there and aren't polite or even smiling. There are some amazing staff though. Lobby staff- miserable! They split our party and gave 1 room on the first floor, street access , with balcony doors that didn't lock/ secure. They refused to move the guests for 2 days, on day 3 they sent the locksmith. The cleaning ladies were nice. This resort has so much potential but definitely need to train staff and management on how to run it. Entertainment was weak. Barely any music playing during the day. BARELY any engagement, didn't care to try to get people to participate. The crowd- OLD, mostly over 60. It feels like an elderly retreat center! Alcohol- I don't even know what they give us. No top shelf! Only 3 bars (beach bar/sports bar during the day.... at night you have 1 bar by the theater/ lobby & sport's bar) prepare to wait a while for drinks. Usually 1 bartender... if you're lucky, maybe 2. The beach is very pretty, clean, lots of beach chairs and towels.Royalton- YOU GOTTA DO BETTER"

2/10 Terrible

"Unfortunately our stay at Ocean Point Resort in room 210 didn't meet our expectations. We arrived at 2:30pm and was told our check in was at 3pm which was fine. We didn't get checked in til 5pm. The room had several issues including leaking water from the AC, hot water problems and unsafe balcony door. There were 2 twin mattresses pushed together with a large lump in the middle. We also experienced poor customer service during parts of our stay and a double charge on our credit card at the Bush House gift shop, with the second charge appearing under Western Union. Some positives include Jessica at the resort restaurant. Thankfully the restaurant next door Mama Mia's provided us with great meals and customer service which we used for breakfast and dinner everyday. Antigua was beautiful unfortunately the overall resort experience was very disappointing. Itinerary #72072326933935 May 11th-15th."

"My wife and I stayed at Sandals Grande Antigua for our honeymoon and had an amazing experience. We stayed on the Mediterranean side of the resort. While the rooms could use a little updating, the view from our balcony was absolutely beautiful and the overall resort layout was perfect. The food was very good, the drinks were great, and there was plenty of beachfront space, so finding loungers with an umbrella was never an issue. The beach itself was incredible — the water was some of the bluest I’ve ever seen. The entire resort was very well maintained and the staff was friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful honeymoon and would definitely recommend this resort to others."
