Trumbull and Porter Hotel

2/10 Terrible

"The worst customer service I’ve ever received. Two ladies at the desk were very unhelpful and actually mean. We needed somewhere to stay Wednesday night. We booked the room after midnight, which was technically Thursday. When we arrived to check in, we were told we couldn’t check in until 3 PM on Thursday. The ladies were mean and smug. We paid $150 to stay in a room we never stayed in. I asked for their names I was told they were not allowed to give them out. This is a terrible hotel."

"Great affordable hotel in downtown Detroit! Room was very spacious and clean. Beds comfy. Wish there was a restaurant available to eat at with kids or teens but all are in the casino and kids can’t eat there. Duncan Donuts was the only place to eat a quick breakfast, coffee or snack. Take advantage of the FREE valet parking! Best deal there. Just tip, of course."

"I was here for a convention so the location can't be beat. The hotel has been recently updated so all the rooms are new, they kept some of the older closets which are clean and newly painted. One really weird and annoying in room item is the movement activated light. I'm sure someone thought it was a good idea but it turns on to movement in the middle of the night which was not helpful. The service was outstanding; everyone was very friendly and helpful. The batteries on the in room safe were dead and they fixed it immediately Highly recommend"
