"The basics were excellent, room, bed, shower, front desk, internet once familiar with 5 step process to get in. Breakfast was a 4 (a 5 would be the standard pre-covid in many Hyatt Places where food was cooked to order), scrambled eggs probably from a liquid carton, probably not powdered, but all else was fine, purists could get a cold hard boiled egg. Only complaint was TV, could not get it to work, followed all the instructions, but it kept jumping back to the original screen. Was too late, in PJ's, too tired to call the desk, so just went to sleep. But turning on TV should not take so many steps."

"I've stayed here many times over the years. It's very convenient to U C Berkeley and downtown Berkeley. It is generally an excellent hotel. I just wish their mattresses were a lot more firmer."
