St Pete Shores Hotel

8/10 Good

"They gave us the wrong room at first, we paid extra for ocean view, and they didn’t have our original room available so we had to stay in the wrong room for the first day + night. But they moved our room around 1pm the next day with a better view, even though most of the view was the top of the building with some ocean. The staff was super friendly and understanding though! We did get a $100 room credit, but that went towards the daily parking fee + resort fees which was $287 total! The floors weren’t very clean in the room, and we only had 1 fork for the room, no napkins, there was plates but no silverware. There was 4 of us 😅 You do have to pay $20 a day for 1 beach chair, or $57 for two chairs and an umbrella. We did not do this, we just used towels which they supply. There was another place we went that supplied all of this and more for a super similar price. We personally won’t be staying here again unless it’s the last option. You only have a nice view with the balcony if you are on floors 6-8. We were on floor 4."

"The hotel was good, great location. The staff was ok, not very friendly and I was upset because I choose this hotel because they said they had parking but when I checked in I was told that wasn’t any parking available and I had to walk almost 2 blocks from the hotel to park."

"The room was quaint and bare compared to what I'm used to getting the ac was good the windows kept the sounds from the planes out the Jacuzzi was ok not too hot most of the jets were weak and closed at 9 the list of rules of things you can't do was extremely long and unnecessary they charged t bucks a day for parking I thought that was extremely cheap if them to add that in instead of it being free like every other hotel I ever used the channel selection on the tv was limited to pretty much basic tv it had on demand but it didn't work when I tried to use it the fridge was cold the sink was by the bed the shower and bathroom shared a glass door I thought that was odd to give no privacy in a toilet right next to the door so anyone that came in would see you not a fan of that the beds were comfortable and clean and doubled as the couch only one working elevator that was slow the staff was nice no smoking anywhere in the property I'm a non smoker but not a fan of that at all people should be allowed to have some fun and relax and not worry about all these rules that I didn't catch in the never ending list to scroll through and sign which with someone behind you is impossible to read it should just be this you should not break anything in the room and keep it clean and noise to a minimum and that should be the entire rule list not 50 pages of different things you can't do I found that to be crazy really crazy but I didn't get yelled at or fined so yay I did it"

"They are beginning a remodeled and the middle path was being redone so patrons of the restaurant bar Jimmy B’s were pretty loud leaving. Otherwise it was great! Good entertainment and food!"

Hollander Boutique Hotel

"I have stayed at the Hollander Hotel about a dozen times and it is consistently excellent. It’s an older hotel that has the feel of a European Hotel. It is quaint with nice rooms, a pool, and very friendly staff. Very nice indoor and outdoor bars with activities on many days. Parking is free and next to the hotel. Close to downtown makes walking easy. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else."

"The room was very nice, spacious, and everything was brand new. It even had a kitchen, which was a great bonus! However, the main downside was the location. Our room was quite far from both the pool and the main reception area, where the beach chairs were provided. We actually had to drive to get to both places. If we wanted to walk to the beach, we could access a closer area, but not the section where the hotel provided beach chairs. Overall, the room itself was excellent, but the distance from the amenities was inconvenient."

"Will be staying again! This hotel has a great location, the beach front was amazing. We stayed in the building on the beach side, they have 2 buildings one is across the street, but they do make that clear when booking. Everything was clean, hotel was quiet. You can rent chairs and umbrellas at the front and the price is very reasonable. Only downside for us were, not a lot of extras, no bottled water in the room, snacks (both available at front desk for purchase) and only a few parking spots on the beach building side. There is more parking across the street but it is a busy street to cross, if you have kids. Staff was amazing, super friendly and helpful. We left our car keys in our room when we traveled back home (to IL) and Joseph at the front desk was amazingly helpful and got them back to us. We were very happy with our stay, and will be back."
