Excellent location. About a 10 minute walk to central downtown. Property is right on the water with very good walking trails. The bakery in the lobby is incredible.

Our stay was amazing. This is a wonderful hotel with friendly staff and great accommodations. It is in a great location to walk to the harbor and near the Christ Church Cathedral and adjacent park & playground. The breakfast is wonderful with lots of choices and options. Our travel experience was definitely improved by staying here.

I liked that it was an old property and was very well kept up. I liked that bath products and linen were unscented and or very mild naturally scented in instance of body wash and conditioner. I liked that the breakfast offered many minimally processed choices.

The James Bay Inn is my go-to hotel in Victoria, BC! I absolutely love it! We had an amazing time at this location! It was super clean, very close to shopping and dining and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Whenever we had any questions or needed extra room items, they were kind and helpful with quick service. The hotel itself is a 2 min walk from Chinatown and 2 blocks away from the water. Enjoyed 3 night stay. Good sized room, with kitchen. Good buffet breakfast. Clean. We did not have a car so loved that we could just walk over to the harbor. Walking distance to many restaurants. Just round the corner to the Royal BC Museum, Provincial Legislature, harbor walkway, Empress Hotel for afternoon tea. Easy to walk into downtown and I am 79 years old

If you are driving to Victoria you have to take the ferry. This can be an issue. Always remember to make a reservation. I forgot and was delayed as a result. I called the property and they were very accommodating with my late arrival.

This was my first stay at this quiet, peaceful and spacious environmental hotel. This hotel prides itself in achieving award status in "green conscience" practices that include composting as an option in the kitchen suites and all rooms without a/c because the fresh bay side breezes afford adequate cooling in the rooms.
