"You cannot charge anything to your room unless you have paid money up front for them to deduct from like a line of credit. The whole thing was ridiculous as they had all my credit card details and could easily charge my card. It was extremely inconvenient having to pay every time you ordered and we had the same issue at the Clayton hotel in Glasgow. We also stayed at the Caledonian hotel in Edinburgh and had no issues charging anything to our room. Other than that there was a lot of construction going on around the hotel so forget sleeping in and one of the 2 elevators wasn’t working. The staff however were great and very polite and helpful and the location was excellent."

Breakfast was better than going to a restaurant- fresh and hot, many choices and we were served in our room in total comfort. Alice most accommodating, very sweet and full of local information. "This castle was absolutely lovely. The staff were amazingly friendly and the rooms were very nice and welcoming. We walked the grounds and saw some nice views. I highly recommend the castle dining room. The food was amazing!"

"We were quite surprised not to be greeted by an owner or manager on arrival. It also took some time to check in, as the doorbell was not working and we had to call the number provided that we saw after trying to knock and find something to use the door bell with. Overall, the location was good and the property itself was clean and tidy. However, we didn’t appreciate the roofing works being carried out without prior notice, particularly the loud banging and noise starting at 8am and debris on the path to the pedestrian gate."
