"John and Pablo were so hospitable, it made our overnight stay in their beautiful property memorable. Both our bedroom and ensuite were lovely, spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Location wise, it was perfect for easy walking into Newark and we had a good evening meal at Oscar's Inn just a 3 minute walk from the property. We had a superb breakfast which was cooked to order and were offered as many refills of our teapot as we wanted. We highly recommend a stay at The Lions. Thank you John and Pablo for looking after us so well. "

"Exactly as advertised - the host was lovely and gave us recommendations of where to go and where to eat, the breakfast was excellent and room very comfortable (clean, tidy, nicely presented, etc.). We had a great time!"

"A great, cute and quiet retreat, which I regrettably only stayed in for one night, as I enjoyed eating my takeaway pizza (rock'n'roll) sat out as the sun set and listening to the wildlife. Would definitely return if I'm in the area again, recommend."

"this hotel is a little surprise. Doesn’t look much from the outside and not helped by being next to a disused building. However, once you enter it is a very different experience. The hotel is lovely, well maintained and the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. We had a family room which was very good, though could do with some better quality bed linen. However, it wasn’t bad at all and we had a pleasant nights sleep. Although we didn’t use it, the bar looked amazing and breakfast in the morning was lovely. Not 5* but given how much this hotel is, it far exceeds expectations. If in Newark and you need a hotel, don’t give it a second thought and book. "

"The location was great, was out the way so a nice change, but still close enough to various amenities local. The room was cozy and clean. The bed was amazingly comfy! Had the best nights sleep! Will definitely be staying here again, cant wait for my next trip!"
