"We stayed here for one night. The hotel was lovely and perfectly appointed. It was close to the bars and restaurants,a couple of minutes walk and you’re in the centre of Rye so if you come by train it’s easy to walk to the hotel and to everything around it. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. We had breakfast which was really good. The staff were really friendly. We couldn’t fault anything about it for the time we were there."

"Plenty of parking. Large comfortable room. Lovely welcome from the staff. Extractor fan in bathroom really loud and plug hole definitely needed some drain unblocker as was standing in water when I had a shower. However the staff were very receptive when I informed them and said that they would notify housekeeping. Would stay again"

"Great overall hotel and for easy access to coast line from Hastings through to Seven Sisters Cliff The hotel is next to train line but no issues re noise Staff is great and supportive Breakfast various options from hot and cold. Great Sunday roast."

"Staff friendly and professional, room pleasant with tea/coffee making facilities; small fridge would have been useful for the water that was also provided. Would book again although the brasserie menu was a little limited - not much in the way of fish dishes and would prefer more traditional options. Breakfast was substantial with choice of continental, cereal, fruit as well as good range of cooked items"

"The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. I like the view over the golf course. Breakfast was not bad but would be much nicer with more choices."
The Black Horse Inn

"This is a historic inn on a pilgrim’s route. It is not a modern, high rise hotel. Don’t let those expectations diminish your experience here. The rooms are quite large and very clean. The beds are comfortable. There are not a lot of frills and extras here yet that is not what this inn is about. Be aware that the inn is not in town. There is a rather narrow road going to the inn. Good, free parking. The breakfast is basic. The pub area is super cool and historic - not sure how good the food is - we didn’t eat lunch or dinner there. This was a good, reasonably priced stop. Don’t expect a high end hotel."
