"First time staying in Fukuoka. Nice ten minute walk from Hakata station from Chikushi exit (Shinkansen side). We reserved a room for four with four futons so we could all stay in one room. For four adults, futons were side to side and maybe an 18 inch space from wall. All our luggage (6 suitcases) were in a space by the door to give you the room size.
We liked the shared dining space in the lobby with a microwave, two stove tops and a toaster. You wash your own dishes but you have space...

It’s my first time in Fukuoka and surprised the room size is relatively big for Japan standard (comparing with cities like Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto) with a double bed and 2-3 seater sofa. "The main problem was at check in. They have a system that scans one's body passport, which is probably a good thing… when it works.
At previous APA hotels I’ve stayed at this system has never worked. When this happens, the attendant simply does what needs to be done at their terminal and all is okay. A slight delay but no big deal. Not this time.
Again, as expected, the system didn’t work. The young man kept trying it, over and over. He phoned people and tried again. And again. I tried to...

"It is an umanned hotel but staff communication is excellent. Our boy left his 9 years old eevee plushie in the hotel when we checked out and the staff helped us to locate and arrange for its repatriation. We are so ever grateful for this.
Clean, specious and comfortable room (with washer/dryer!), walking distance to Hakata Station, 10-15mins drive to airport. A great place to call home when visiting Fukuoka."
