In the background is the only remnants of the Ardstinchair Castle remaining to this day. Ardstinchar Castle is a late medieval castle in the west coast of Ayrshire at the mouth of the River Stinchar. It was built by Hugh Kennedy of Ardstinchar in the mid-15th century. In the 1770s, the castle was demolished and the stone was used to build a bridge. In the middle is a war memorial.

"Absolutely fantastic - an incredibly beautiful property in a lovely quiet street. The room was so comfortable and beautifully decorated, with a fantastic bathroom. Breakfast, which you order the evening before, was absolutely delicious and Alison was a fantastic host. "Upon check in we was greeted by pleasant staff. We was given 2 rooms in the main hotel building. The rooms was absolutely huge, very clean and comfortable. We only stayed due to close proximity to the airport. After reading some of the reviews we was a little apprehensive to what’s to expect but it was better than expected. We are in the hotel restaurant and was pleasantly surprised the food was nice beef stew with tender beef. Only th big that they didn’t have was food for the kids but they ate free also which was good. Parking was very busy and was throwing down with rain so wasn’t great having to walk far in the morning but again not a complaint. Would stay again if in the area "
