"We had high hopes for this property but left four days early due to unsafe and unsanitary conditions throughout the unit. Upon arrival the unit had not been cleaned — dirty linens and wet towels were on the washer, and the kitchen had almost no supplies. Within minutes of arriving, a deck rocking chair structurally collapsed when I sat in it, causing me to fall and bruise my hip. The chair was clearly deteriorated and should not have been available for guest use.The upstairs shower drains into the kitchen sink below — we later learned from the host’s own cleaner that this was a known issue and repairs had been intentionally scheduled after our checkout, not before. The mold and mildew smell on the stairs was strong enough that the HVAC technicians the host sent also noted it.Other serious concerns: the dryer was packed with lint and posed a fire risk, outside deck outlets had no covers, kitchen outlets near the sink were non-functional, and multiple ceiling areas showed signs of ongoing water damage that had been painted over rather than repaired.In total we documented more than 40 issues with photos and video. The host’s response was slow, and after we offered to leave early to allow repairs, he declined a fair refund. He later claimed we had an undisclosed pet, despite our booking being submitted for 2 adults and 1 dog with no pet fee listed.We have filed complaints with the BBB, Florida Attorney General, and our credit card company. Future guests should be aware. "
