"This was my 5th stay in Avira. When I checked in, I made a request for a sunny room facing the street. I was given a great room, xx31, between Oct 22-28. When I returned to Avira--6th stay--after a trip to Tianjin a week later, I was given a dark and gloomy room, xx06, facing the courtyard on the same floor despite my similar request. Two hours after, I approached the manager who was kind enough to make my wish come true. And switched me to sunny, streetview room xx33, Really didn't know why...

At the plaza the price included breakfast and was cheaper."

"This hotel is in the northwest part of Beijing. It is near the Summer Palace, Beijing University, and QingHua University. It is a 10-15 minute walk to two different subway stops (Yuanmingyuan and Xiyuan on line 4). The staff was friendly but did not speak English. The beds were hard, and the shower had no side boundary, so the water got all over the bathroom floor. The price was good, though it did not include breakfast."

The only building used as a hotel has shown signs of aging: pealing Wall paper, stained carpet, scratches in the hall way and elevator, old furniture and fixtures, patches on doors, suspicious dark residue in bathroom, stagnant and wet, unpleasant odor... We moved out the second day."
