"This was my 5th stay in Avira. When I checked in, I made a request for a sunny room facing the street. I was given a great room, xx31, between Oct 22-28. When I returned to Avira--6th stay--after a trip to Tianjin a week later, I was given a dark and gloomy room, xx06, facing the courtyard on the same floor despite my similar request. Two hours after, I approached the manager who was kind enough to make my wish come true. And switched me to sunny, streetview room xx33, Really didn't know why...

"Air conditioning and heating is centrally controlled, and is only turn on according to fixed seasonal schedule. This made the room uncomfortably hot during a stay in March. The staff did try to help by providing portable fan. With windows open, that helps a bit. But still very inconvenient."

My room located at the end of 3rd floor which was nice and clean. One thing bothered me quite a bit was during my staying, the 3rd floor hallway had very strong cigarette smoking smell near the elevator, it was horrible since it's a non-smoking 5 star hotel."
