"Nice staff. The bed was big and comfortable but the shower could use some work. The bathroom window was facing a nice forest with a home behind it and it didn’t have a curtain blocking that window. Also shower curtain is blocking your body but had an open netting at the top which you can still see because the shower is a bit raised. I threw my towel over and I was fine. For a quick stay it’s great. everything else was very clean and had no problems "

"Aaron's Cottage was a great place to stay. It's near the Hilo Bay shore and practically next door to a beautiful public beach park. The owner worked with me on a self check-in so that I could arrive at 11:30 pm. The in-room fridge was nice to have and was supplemented by a nearby communal kitchen with a larger fridge, cooktop, microwave, and toaster. The on-site trees coupled with the ocean breeze kept the room comfortable, but there was a small air conditioner for warmer times of the day. Aaron's Cottage is on a quiet dead end street but still within minutes of downtown amenities. The wifi is very good. My room had a nice Roku television, but why go to Hawaii to watch TV? Skip the glitz and choose simpler amenities with a relaxing atmosphere."

"What a lovely place to stay! We usually stay in Kona but we’re hoping to see some Volcano action so chose to stay a couple of nights closer to Hilo. Now I wish we had stayed here the whole time. Yes you hear the frogs but with the windows closed you barely hear them. It’s a very green, beautiful property. So nice to sit on the lanai and enjoy the surroundings. The hosts left a tasty variety of local fruit and the delicious banana bread. You have access to water and ice too. We would definitely stay there again. "

"We love staying at the Dolphin Bay Hotel. It is conveniently located near many places we visit, the staff is wonderful, and the rooms are simple but roomy. We also enjoy how peaceful the neighborhood is and a big bonus is getting fresh coffee, banana bread and fruit every morning. Parking is easy, the WiFi is 5G so accessing devices is super quick. "

"My husband and I had the most enjoyable stay at the Huilili Farm. The Pineapple cottage was so comfortable, and had everything we needed. Both the inside bed and the outside hanging bed were super comfy. It took a lot of will power to get out of the hanging bed on the lanai to go sightseeing. We enjoyed visiting Akaka Falls and the town of Honomu and its eateries, as well as the Hakalau trail (if you are concerned about bugs—mosquito repellent was effective). The lychees and stargazing at night were just two of many memorable highlights. Thank you, Todd and Madeleine, for sharing the farm and for the most relaxing getaway ever!"
