"This was just a great place to stay! Very convenient (and walkable) to lots of places to eat. Rooms were clean and simple and perfect. The whole property was clean and well kept. The staff we met, Billy and Braedon, were very friendly and helpful and provided us with loads of information—guiding us to come back!! The other staff in the office were super friendly and helpful too. We are so glad life afforded us to come to Avon and stay at the Avon Motel!! "

"Overall good visit however we were a group of four adults and the smaller bedroom bed was just really not comfortable. I think there is an intention to make it a room for kids but when you have a second adult couple, it’s a challenge. The beds just weren’t comfortable. Also, we appreciated the new keurig but when we set it up to brew a pot, it did but the coffee came through cold and the heating plate did not get hot at all. "

"Location is fabulous. The house is great. There were boogie boards there for us to use as well as lots of games. Tips for staying here:Bring cleaning supplies for the kitchen, dish towels, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, extra blankets for beds. There’s an awesome playground one block over in front of the Avon Pier. The pier costs 2 a person and it gives you access all day. We saw a black tip shark right off the pier!Food Lion is a mile away as well as various shops for beach gear and souvenirs. Surfs Up Seafood market had better prices than Food Lion for crabs and shrimp, and the seafood was delicious. In Buxton, 10 min away, there’s a used book store, an escape room, and go karts. Angelos pizza is also nice. The fishing was great. We did a charter out of Hatteras one day, and it was great and only 30 min away. We had a wonderful stay! We’d love to come back!"

"My family and I have been New Jersey beach people since my youth in the 1970's. My wife and I enjoyed taking our children there until these past couple of years when it became unaffordable, and quite frankly, elitist. We sought what I always enjoyed at the NJ shore which is a quiet and relaxing place, but one with options for some low key activities. We found that here in Avon, and specifically at the Salty Frog. The solitude of it all, the shops, the beach, and the restaurant options were all exactly what I want from a beach vacation. There was nothing to do here but completely chill out.Now, the Salty Frog and my check in experience certainly set the stage for my excellent experience. My family traveled 11 hours to arrive, and of course, going through my mind was "what if it's not what it appears to be?", "what if something goes wrong?". Well, this was alleviated during our drive when Mandy from Surf or Sound began her communication with me which was reassuring since she was going to ensure our happiness. Finally, our arrival at the Salty Frog was an experience that I have rarely had. The house was true to the pictures online, completely stocked (beyond our cooking, movie watching, and game playing capabilities), and the amenities were ample. In summary:Fantastic and quiet location - easy beach access.Fantastic house.Excellence provided by Surf or Sound.We will be back..."

"Very nice unit on top floor with beautiful views of the beach from exterior balcony. A close walk to the beach across the dunes. Great location close to grocery stores/ restaurants. Be aware of the stairs. It’s equivalent of 4 levels up. "
