"Friendliness and efficiency of all staff made for a very welcoming and relaxing stay. The room was comfortable with everything you could need and we enjoyed the lovely view of the town. The breakfast was super tasty and beer good. A great location for our winery tour and walk around Digley reservoir - brilliant weather too!"

There was large function taking place which I was emailed about beforehand to let me know they had moved my room to be a little bit further away from the noise , howeve r we did not retune till midnight so it did not effect us . 10 out of 10 will recommend and stay again "

"The whole town is very compressed and tight for space. Part of the charm. The rooms at the Nook may not suit some people in terms of access as there are stairs to some of the rooms. Also quite noisy as very near a couple of pubs but if you accept this as part of the surroundings then its great. Room was good, bar and restaurant down stairs with excellent service in the evening and at breakfast. Would go again. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Calf’s Head, Clitheroe. We attended a wedding at a venue not far from here, so it was a great location for us. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the downstairs bar/dining was an asset to our stay. We both enjoyed a lovely full English the morning after with the option of fruit, cereals and yoghurts. The outdoor space here is gorgeous so would definitely recommend going here to enjoy it on a nice day. The only criticism I can give is that the...

"We notified Maypole Inn of our expected arrival time and Staff kindly kept the kitchen open for us as we were late arriving - Excellent evening meal and generous portions. Additionally, we were allowed to use the kitchen freezer overnight for our cool box. Rooms and bathroom were very clean and tidy although there was a patch of damp/dirt in the corner of the celling in the main room. "We enjoyed many facets of our stay at the Lister Arms in early May. The sights and walks are stupendous--there are steep walks and near flat walks along the river and some through stone walled grass fields with lots of sheep. The food at the Lister was excellent and we had meals in the morning, midday and evening. Great selection of real ales. Very attentive and engaging staff. "
