Pocketbook Hotel and Bath

"Gorgeous stay - need to work out some kinks. Had to ask for a steamer 3 times to never get one. 3 times for extra pillows. The valet parking situation is a bit off. Hotel staff talking loudly with non guests how they wouldn’t spend the money to stay here. Our room had a window that was directly in the way of morning light with a window that had NO shade - brought this up and nothing was done nor apologized. The rooms are LOUD - yes the property is old and they make note but when you have old and steel tubs you need to add rugs in the room minimum. The aesthetic is beautiful and the design firm did great but if you want to charge these prices that I’m sure will climb you need to fix these small details. The restaurant was the star out our trip absolutely incredible food and lovely staff. Overall a good stay but again - some changes need to be made as you know the crowd you are attracting."

"The Emerson is a great resort/spa. Our room was just beautiful, clean , and comfortable. However, you will need to plan your stay well before you arrive since spa treatments book up quickly. My stay was spur of the moment so there was no availability, not even for a pedicure. Also be advised that there is no cell service (didn’t matter to me) but there is WiFi. I was aware that the restaurant was closed on the days of my stay so I can’t comment on the food. Even though this is a nice place, I don’t think I’ll be staying here again."

"Great for a large group. The heated pool, hot tub, outdoor lawn area, and massive indoor space are all fantastic. The peaceful view of the mountains over the lake is majestic. The amenities and restaurants / golf of the surrounding towns is very handy.It’s a very large property, so a printed book of instructions on where to find what would be helpful to future travelers. And a fewminor improvements - It took us a while to find things like trash bags, pans and lids that matched, etc. And there were no larder items like salt, pepper, cooking oil or sugar. There are a lot of bathrooms and many did not have soaps and shampoos which could have been more visibly stocked. The host was very responsive. On the last day, there was an area-wide power outage that knocked out power and water. The next early morning July 5th Sunday, the hosts sent over some help within 90 mins of calling, and Jeff was able to get the water running again within minutes. Thank you Jeff."
