"I booked this place because we desperately needed somewhere to stay for easy travel to Wembley. I was a bit uncertain about the reviews but honestly this place is fine. It's not incredible, but the staff were genuinely really nice and friendly, it's an easy 5-10 min walk from the train station, the rooms are run down and not that aesthetically pleasing but we found the bed wasn't too bad, and it was clean. Noise carries between rooms but even though the hotel was full we got good sleep. It felt a bit like staying in a university halls room. I was grateful to have found somewhere so cheap, and I don't regret it. You get what you pay for. Free breakfast (we gave it a miss), free parking, no faff, I think it's a bargain really if you just need somewhere to sleep. Don't go in expecting the ritz! Most importantly as a female traveller I felt safe there, that's the most important thing. I think these guys have been misrepresented a bit in the reviews. I got the sense they are really trying. And without them, I'd have missed my concert!"

"It does exactly what it says on the tin. I always stay here during Henley royal regatta. It’s not cheap and this time the room was a bit small, but generally it’s all good. Staff were super nice. For me, a bonus is having Waitrose and another supermarket just a few minutes away. Means I don’t have to buy hotel food."

"Nice modern rooms with AC and a comfortable bed, toiletries could do with an upgrade. Good food available at the pub. Nice breakfast, but it would be nice to be able to order a cappuccino."
Crazy Bear Hotel-Beaconsfield

"Room was looking tired and wasn’t the cleanest. Lots of small detailed cleaning is required, extra attention to the woodwork & fittings. Thai restaurant wasn’t very good, over cooked chicken starter, old dressing. Main of Pad Thai was very over cooked, meaning the noodles difficult to eat. Bar staff & reception staff were very good and helpful."

"We had a wonderful stay at The Crown. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were well-appointed, and the breakfast was delicious, with a variety of choices that pleased everyone in our group. Easy parking in the lot behind the inn. The location is perfect for exploring Amersham and the surrounding area. We'd happily stay again!"
Cliveden House

"Cliveden is truly an amazing place to experience! We have stayed here before and this time was even better. Their staff is also absolutely amazing! We had quite a journey getting to England because our original flight to Paris was canceled so we got to Paris later than anticipated and then the trains to England were down because of the heat wave so we couldn't get to London as originally planned either. After over 24 hours of airports and traveling, canceled flights, missing non refundable bookings etc., I was sobbing in the French airport after being told by the 4th airline that they had nothing available so I called Cliveden in a desperate panic and spoke with Lou who was an angel from above. I poured out everything to her and she was not only apologetic about our situation but empathetic and moved our pre-scheduled treatments to another day, offered credit if we couldn't get there in time to check in etc. She truly could not have been more helpful and I don't think she will ever know how much her compassion meant to us in that moment of utter despair. Cliveden Lou needs a raise! She's wonderful! Thankfully, the story ends well as we were able to make it on a last minute flight addition and were still able to have our fairy tale stay at Cliveden after all. Thank you to all of the staff for such a lovely experience 10/10 will stay here again and highly recommend to all who visit England!"

"Overall pretty good. Older property, but updated in the right places. Needs finishing touches such as better sealant around water fixtures. An outdoor heated pool would be amazing. Also, the bar doesn’t have Aperol! Easy to fix."

"There is intention for updates of this property (hence the missing roof) but overall work quality and room condition is not great. The doors on the corridor are fitted with door closure mechanism, and they slam the doors each time they are opened (very disturbing at night)"
