"Loved staying at Onn. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice and the only one with a balcony. Much recommended if available. Unlike the email you receive when you book that staff does not speak English: they do! And they are super friendly. Only thing a little odd is that house keeping is every four days. However towels and bins are changed daily if left outside the room. The hotel is right on the Nagasendo trail. Can definitely see us stay here again."

The only reason for giving the hotel three stars overall rating is that the bathroom was outdated - the hotel was celebrating a one year opening so I was surprised at the outdated bathroom condition. "This ryokan is intended to be a place you go to relax. There isn’t a lot to do by design, other than eat, sleep, onsen, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings in comfort. We did half-board and the food is fantastic. The staff were very nice. The onsen were beautiful, especially the open air one on the fourth floor. There are six or seven onsen total including the three private ones. "

"Very comfortable stay. Special dinner each night amazing. We stayed for four nights and different dinners each night. Lots of nice little touches that made our stay more comfortable, like umbrellas in the foyer for use during the rain, and free tea, coffee and soft drink"

"Actually good value if you accept the tatami style bedding. Only problem is that going out of the room to the shared toilets and showers can be freezing as the common areas are not yeated. Hotel looks old. But it was in the centre of Ina, and had good free parking. Room we got for 5 pax was relatively cheap."

"The rooms were clean and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were delicious.We specially liked the cosy lounge area where we could have a cup of coffee. Foreign tourists like coffee and like to relax in a big and comfortable chair! The lady manager was cheerful and very helpful. We will recommend this hotel to our friends."
