"I saw some negative reviews about this place and I have to say I didn't experience any of them really. The staff was welcoming (not overly friendly but certainly not rude), the location is unbeatable, the breakfast buffet was one of the more robust spreads i've seen in a hotel outside the US, and the hotel was spotless. Our room was larger than we expected and very well appointed. I only have two low-lights: 1) There was no AC which meant the rooms can get hot. Most of the year this is no problem but during our stay it wasn't very comfortable. 2) Due to the lack of AC we opened the windows which let in plenty of cool night air. Unfortunately there is a family of cows across the street with bells on that were active all night (cute problem I know). We named the main cow Meribell and although she was awesome, her bells made it hard to sleep without earplugs. Overall i'd definitely stay here again, despite the lack of sleep."

"The breakfast was great, but I was disappointed that the gym was closed. The hotel is very cozy and clean. The view from the room was stunning. It's a 3-4 minute walk to the train station Ost, very convenient."

"The check in for starters is very odd. The first thing they make you sign is a disclaimer not to get the wood floors wet etc. or there is an additional charge. The next odd thing is we used the sauna located in the basement which is under construction. So it doesn’t really feel like the pictures. The next item, you need to use their sandals which you are required to deposit 25 CHF in cash per set. You cannot apply to the room or use a credit card hold etc. Not exactly welcoming or relaxing. Lastly, we had an early train so needed to be up at 5 am the next morning. At about midnight, we were woken up by water flowing from the ceiling onto the antique wood floors they mentioned numerous times. The fix was to have us leave our stuff in the room, try to get back to sleep after about 45 minutes of them deciding what to do. The craziest thing was they didn’t even dry the wood floors over the night and the wet carpet was still lying there in the morning as we had to keep stepping over to get ready, packed and out by 5. In the end barely got an apology for the loss of a nights sleep. No offer to discount the room, let me get you to the train station, whatever. This hotel does a lot of things right, but overall not impressed. "

"Breakfast menu wasn't wide and really needed more egg options. Boil eggs in shell wasn't appealing. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Room #218 had a excellent view of both sides of hotel with a balcony which i loved. Walking distance to everything and very close to train station. Enjoyed my stay. "
