"The property was wonderful for our family vacation. It was centrally located for all of the day trips we wanted to take. The cabin was clean and uncluttered. There was sufficient supplies available for cooking and we appreciated the gas grill! The bunkhouse was great for the kids to have their own space and bathroom! The hosts were very responsive and welcoming. Our only regret is not using the trails which were literally right across the road! Maybe next time!"

"We are a family of four, who only stayed at this hotel to sleep. We left immediately after breakfast. We WOULD stay here again. Keeping that in mind… Pros: -The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful -The property was clean -There were many breakfast choices (eggs & sausage, biscuits & gravy, mini waffles, oatmeal, cereal, etc) -It was quiet. -You can’t beat this price in the area, especially with a breakfast factored in. Con’s: -The property was dated, so the doors needed a hard push to close all the way, the shower squealed, the outlets were loose (only half of them held a plug). -The mattresses desperately need to be replaced. Imagine sleeping on a trampoline…and waking up in a cuddle pile in the middle."

"Cute little rustic cabin in a good location in the U.P. Of Michigan. The place was well stocked and had everything we needed. It is surrounded by apple trees and there’s a little creek right next to it and our toddler had a lot of fun playing in the yard while we had a fire. Roads not too busy most days and the train only went by twice in the week we were there. There was some broken glass in the yard and the mosquitoes were really thick but that can’t really be helped. Overall we enjoyed our stay and this is a great place for a small family or group of close friends. Bring your favorite dvds as there is a working dvd player if you want to have a movie night."

"We experienced a few cleanliness issues when we first arrived, so we reached out to the host. She responded immediately, explained that she was using a new cleaning person, and assured us the issues would be addressed. We really appreciated her prompt communication and willingness to make things right.Overall, this is a very cute property in a great location for everything we wanted to do. The interior was comfortable, cozy, and felt very homey. Despite the initial issues, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. If you're visiting the area, I would recommend considering this property. Great host, great location, and a charming place to stay!"

"This is a beautiful property and we enjoyed our stay immensely.Our one drawback was the stairs. The entry stairs to the front deck and electronic lock are quite tall and we struggled with them.The 2nd floor lounge was largely unusable to my troupe and there were a few comments about longing for a sofa on the main level. A group of little old ladies, I guess.We also removed the trash bin to outside; the garbage bags provided for the tall trash bin are very heavily scented and our sensitivities to those strong scents caused us to use alternative rubbish solutions. We were fortunate that The McMillan cottage was in a bubble of relief from the Ontario forest fires smoke, and the temperatures were stunningly comfortable.You might consider lowering the water temperature for the water heater, as it was near scalding at the kitchen sink and shower. But you may have legitimate reasons for the very high temperature.Thank you for sharing your spot with us, we did enjoy it."
