"Great budget hotel near the JR station. Checked in and out using the kiosks. Rooms are small, but easily accommodated 3. There's a connected 7-11. There was an unexpected city tax (200 yen a night I think?), but maybe it was stated and I don't see it. Overall a good choice if you're on a budget and will be spending a lot of time outside."

"I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. From the outside, it has a traditional vibe, but inside, everything is clean, modern, and well taken care of. The room was spotless, and the staff were super kind and helpful the whole time. The location was great too — really close to Kiyomizu-dera and the Kamo River, which made sightseeing very convenient. There wasn’t anything I’d complain about, but if I had to pick one thing, I think a Japanese-style breakfast option would’ve been nice. Still, overall it was such a lovely experience. After a long day of sightseeing, it was the perfect quiet and relaxing place to come back to. Also, the coffee and bread from the café on the first floor were surprisingly good! I’d definitely recommend this place to friends. It’s a great hotel for the price."

"Hotel was beautiful in a great neighborhood. The onsen was really well maintained and relaxing. All the staff were friendly and polite and accommodating. We arrived in the rain and were soaked and they took great care of us and offered towels to dry off while check in was in progress. My only negative about this hotel was the breakfast. Very uninspiring and lacked some basic options. Random salad items, hash browns, cheeses - just an uncohesive mix. It’s also quite expensive so I was hoping for more. We only had it the one morning and went out for other meals. Overall tho, it was a great stay. "
