the stay is just so relaxing and zen like and it is less than 10 mins walk to Todaiji including the deer park. Kintetsu Nara train station is about 10 mins away and plenty of shops/restaurants/cafes to check out. Highly recommend this hotel. Service is just outstanding. There are two onsens - one upstairs and another one at the ground floor. The breakfast is just so filling but healthy.

Though I only stayed there for one night, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. My room was really nice, and it was a good experience.

I wanted to experience a ryokan while I was in Japan. The Tenpyo Ryokan provided that. The service was good. Since we arrived before check-in time, they held our bags for us and put them in our room for us. The room was clean, and as hoped with traditional furniture and comfortable bedding. The staff were beyond friendly and hospitable! My friend staying with me was having medical issues and we were immediately offered help/accommodations in any way possible. The bath has a fantastic view over Nara, the property is nestled amongst some of the most beautiful scenery I’ve ever seen, our room was very cozy, and the breakfast in the morning left us full and satisfied. We had an excellent stay. The family was so wonderful. They took great care of us and were so sweet. Breakfast was delicious. The ryokan was beautiful and felt very traditional. Would highly recommend!

The place was great. Best thing was the staff. They were so nice and accommodating. I was late for my check in but the staff helped me by waiting to still serve me dinner when I got there. They were waiting out front for me and helped me out all with everything. They were the nicest people. The facilities were great too. Food was delicious. The room was lovely. The onsen was relaxing. I'm very happy with my stay there.

A very nice place to stay for vacation. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is very spacious and clean. Just walk one block to the bus station and two block to the subway station. The buses are reaching to the temples and Kyoto station. No need to transfer. Very convenient.

Absolutely stay here when in Kyoto. This was our favorite hotel on our trip to Japan. It is an authentic experience. Dinner and breakfast were great (though they may be tough for a picky eater). But most importantly, the staff was amazing. We have never felt more welcomed by a hotel. They became our friends. We will be back!

This Ryokan is in an excellent area- very convenient to temples , restaurants. The staff is the most courteous and helpful staff I have ever met and we travel quite a bit . We stayed as a family of 4 very comfortably in a traditional room . When we return to Kyoto we will definitely stay here again .
