"From the first moment we arrived we knew it was a special place. We received a warm welcome, got escorted to our room and give welcome drinks and cookies. Our room was immaculate. We had a beautiful view of the river and our own private Japanese garden and inside and outside onsen bath. We were provided with breakfast and dinner in the kaiseki style in our own room. "The Ryokan is in a very beautiful location but it is a 10min walk in summer for public transport or cheaper eating options, so be prepared to budget in some taxi fares if you do indeed come in summer and don't handle the heat well."
