The staff was lovely and the room quite comfortable, by Western standards for a Japanese room (although the futons were by far the hardest and most uncomfortable of the three ryokans we visited). "If you wish to stay in a traditional ryokan and still get the option to be near dining and shopping, I would highly recommend this place to everyone! It’s very close to popular shopping centres, great local restaurants, and the subway/bus stations. The family who run the ryokan are amazing and are so attentive to my needs. This place truly did make my Kyoto trip so special! I will definitely be coming back next time :)"
