"No hot water"

"All the motels in Phoenix were running $500 plus a night and they were getting booked up fast. I finally found the Red Roof Inn Plus that had decent reviews and wasn't going to break the bank. I booked a King room. A day later, I found out my granddaughter was coming with us. I messaged the motel and asked if i could get a double bed room or a rollaway bed. They accommodated me immediately with a double bed. After we got to the motel, we found out the next morning that the shower head was broken. We were able to shower but the water wasn't spraying well. We told the front desk and by the time we got back ro the room that evening, the shower was fixed, the room was cleaned and fresh towels were in the room. This motel treated us great. "

"Booked this spot for $204 thinking I’d get a decent night’s rest, a shower, and a general sense of “I’ll probably survive.” Technically… I got 2 out of 3. Arrival felt less like check-in and more like entering a VIP event where the dress code is “follow the car in front of you and hope for the best.” Gated? Yes. Secure? Let’s call it… optimistic. Bonus entertainment included distant gunshots, tire screeches, police lights like a disco ball and some very entrepreneurial night walkers making their rounds. Don’t make eye contact if you aren’t look for a short term roommate for the night. The room itself had personality. The mattress, for example, tried to fold me into it like a taco the moment I sat down. I’m not that heavy, but it clearly had ambitions. Sheets were bug-free (huge win), though they did feature a few artistic burn holes…abstract expressionism, cigarette edition. Cockroaches were very kind to stay outside, or at least not make an appearance inside so for that I am thankful. The bathroom? A visual experience. I considered showering but ultimately decided my shoes deserved better, and my dignity agreed. End result: I slept in my clothes, hood up, headphones on, door locked like Fort Knox, and one eye open like a paranoid raccoon. Woke up alive, car still there, and honestly… that’s a successful stay. Would I recommend it? Only if you enjoy a little adrenaline with your overnight accommodations. Not for the faint of heart, but definitely unforgettable. "

"The home was clean. The coffee maker had no coffee and when we notified the owner she just said it was taken care of by the house keeper, did not really help. We bought coffee. The trash was over flowing in the carport and the answer was that they had guests before us and trash is picked up the following Thursday, this was Monday. There were NO smoke dectors in the home, just the frame of one attached to the wall, This is against the law in any state for a rental. It was over 100 degrees and the pool was not operation correctly but biggest issue full of algae. Mentioned to owner and no response. The pool man came a few days later but adding chorline will not solve this pool, We own a pool, It needs to be emptied or all water reverse osmosis process. Sad, sad. We wanted to leave but since we had to wait a day to try and get another place, then check out by 10 or 11 and then wait for another property to let us in not convenient with our already made plans. We had to stay. Called VRBO and tomorrow I will see how they see all this now. Algae and no smoke detectors just a bad seriously unsafe situation. "

"Overall very disappointing. Home was out dated and furniture appears to be from local garage sales. About a dozen light bulbs were out. Unable to use pool table due to inadequate lighting. The dart board in the profile was missing. Dishwasher failed and flooded. Ice maker in fridge was frozen shut. Only 3 forks and one spoon for a home supposed to sleep 16 people. Garage filled with garbage. Found one patio umbrella at the bottom of the pool when we checked in. Towels were rags. Avoid if able. "
