" The owner is a young man who has put his heart and soul into making the stay the best experience for the guests. He was genuinely warm and thoughtful. We were about to miss the bus to Osaka, and he immediately offered to drive us till the boarding point. The stay was also quite memorable. "I like that I get to experience a nice Kyoto neighborhood. The service could be improved. I felt like the staffs were not friendly every time I said hi. They also turn off the AC in the middle of the might and even if it runs, it’s usually very light so I try to turn on the fan at the same time to avoid sweating. However, it’s hard to sleep due to the fan noises. "

"Our group of 3 loved the clean, spacious rooms and proximity to the Monkey Park and Bamboo forest. The extra space felt like a luxury after many smaller (but more expensive) hotel rooms. The Beautiful pizza restaurant a 5 minute walk from the hotel blew us away. If you like desserts, there are so many places to choose from just a short walk away. The staff were kind and accommodating of us!"

"We booked the premier garden suite and LOVED it. My partner is Japanese and said it reminded him of his grandmothers house growing up. The room is just a simple/beautiful traditional Japanese style room. Although the garden area could use some sprucing up, it was very nice/relaxing. We had a car and I do not not that I would have stayed here otherwise, the location is off the beaten path. That being said, the location was one of the main reasons we choose this place. We felt like locals in a sense, so we loved the location. If your an early riser like me, there are no coffee shops such within walking distance. If you want a “traditional Japanese” style room, definitely consider premier suite. No onsen but the bathroom was SO nice, it was like having our own private sentó."

"Absolutely beautiful hotel. What I love the most is the private onsen in the room. It's in a semi-open space (not in the room, but under a roof kind of in the back balcony). The private onsen refills itself, and temperature regulated. It was amazing. Beautiful scenery, excellent staff, exceptional breakfast."
