"This was our first stay at a rhyokan (spelling!)and we were blown away by the beauty, The comfort (personally I felt sleeping on tatami mats on a futon perfect). The attentive service was welcoming and spot on. We ate breakfast and dinner here and the local food was abundant, gorgeously presented and flavorful. We had a room with a private Onsen on a deck. Highly recommend. This was a unique, peak experience and I am a seasoned traveler. Do it. "

"Great sized room and great facilities (free laundry, free massage chairs, free welcome drinks, tea coffee station and water station. The room however, is a little noisy due to the "openness" of the space. The balcony street outside can be quite noisy. Live music goes til 10 ish so that can also be noisy if your room is on the lower floor. "
