The NEST at Nishiki is both a new and an exceptional property. The rooms were spotless and functional, the staff was extremely attentive, and the location was just perfect--steps from the Nishiki Market and the Gion district. Yet the single most outstanding feature of the NEST at Nishiki is its manager, Ms. Chie Nakamura. She is professional, knowledgeable, a top-notch hotelier, and a wonderful person. This hotel is a reflection of its manager. ありがとうございました.

This hotel was the best out of the hotels we stayed at on our two week trip (3 hotels total). If you’re looking for a great hotel in Kyoto it’s this hotel. Room was clean and beautiful. Bed was excellent (all other beds we slept on were hard and bad). Bathroom was great! Close to the subway and bus stop (use the bus - super easy, fast and clean). Next door to convenience store (very helpful). Blocks from Kyoto station (also very helpful). One block from a beautiful shrine. Coin-op laundromat...

The spa suite at Hotel Gion Ichirin is such a dream. We loved our room and private spa amenities so much, we barely wanted to leave the hotel. It was walking distance to restaurants, shopping and attractions like Yasaka Shrine. The staff was kind and it felt like we were the only guests there because it was so quiet and we didn’t bump into other guests. It was convenient they had a free washer/dryer machine and I loved getting the matcha latte from the coffee machine in the lobby.

The owner/managers very very nice people and extremely helpful.
The location was excellent as it was right next to the main food market in town and also within walking distance of many areas with attractions. If we come back to Kyoto we would love to stay here again.

This hotel is absolutely amazing. We learned it opened about a month ago. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was spacious for our family of 4 and was so very clean and the decor was inviting. The bathroom is just as amazing. I had a great stay at THE GATE Hotel in Kyoto! The property is modern, clean, and well-maintained. One of the highlights is definitely the top floor, where the reception and bar are located—it offers a stunning panoramic view of the city, especially at sunset. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the train station and close to several local attractions, which made it easy to explore Kyoto. Overall, a comfortable and stylish place to stay. I’d definitely come back!

This hotel is fabulous. The rooms are stylish and the location could not be better. It is right next to a subway station and an easy trip from Kyoto station. The breakfast is tasty with many choices. The rooms are a little on the small side for Americans...we are from New York City so pretty typical for NYC standards. Would 100% stay here again. Five star for food, design, location, and service.
