"Our stay over Christmas in the beautiful Kestral cottage was superb. Jean and Amy made us feel very welcome and went 'above & beyond' to make our stay perfect. The cottage has all the amenities you could ask for and was spotlessly clean. We would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to spend a quiet break in County Durham. Say hi to the llamas!"

"A pleasant cottage, but there is no access to back garden as 2 very large dogs were there. They also scratch / jump at the back door (in lounge) in the middle of the night! Front garden not as pretty as picture with some dog mess and dogs watching through gate. Lastly boiler is in bedroom so you can hear when it comes on. "

"Our stay that the leveret was so peaceful and out of the way but not too far from shops and pubs. The cabin was so cosy and private. We ordered more logs from the owners and the response was quick and sonwere the logs. Everything was excellent, wish we stayed a little longer as went far too quick. Had lots of people asking where we staying as looked great on the videos we posted of the place. "

"Fantastic place to stay! We stayed for three nights with our two children - they loved staying in "the castle". Really well furnished and had everything we needed. The views are fantastic and some great walks in the area. Easy to drive to Durham and the Beamish Museum. Highly recommended!"

"This is a versatile accommodation for business, pleasure, families. Set in a fantastic location at the bottom of penshaw monument. There are some many places within a short drive. If you don’t want to drive there is lots to do in the immediate surrounding area. A short walk and you are down by the river, where there is a great coffee shop or friendly pub. "Good location - walked to the stadium and dinner. Room was clean and good size. AC was hard to figure out and we ultimately ended up opening the window to cool off - not sure how much is user error vs the system itself. Would stay again tho if I was seeing another football game"
