"Great location and super clean and comfy. No elevator makes getting luggage up to your room a little difficult but we managed. Tea and cookies in the room was a nice treat. Would stay again!"

"Travelled to Thirsk with family for a funeral. The team at the Golden Fleece could not have been more lovely and helpful. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Dining was great, the bar was well stocked. We had a good experience despite the circumstances."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at The Fox & Hounds, Breakfast was excellent, hot and quickly served, but we were very grateful for 2 chairs, i.e. 1 each, in the bedroom. So many hotels, even expensive, posh ones only supply 1 chair, so one member of a couple has to sit on the bed or prop against the dressing table. Well done Fox & Hounds."

"I stayed for three nights the staff and food was amazing I wanted a little break away from my busy lifestyle and this was the place to be. i will be back with my partner and dog again thank you Keep up the good work guys"

"The staff were exceptional and the food abundant well prepared and reasonably priced. The room was clean and comfortable. THe room would have benefited from a chair in the room and my room (pretender) needs privacy film or a net curtain as there are tables directly outside which can see into the room. Orherwise and despite this the stay was exceptional and highly recommended"

"Lovely room overlooking the canal. We walked into the town along the towpath & later enjoyed drinks after dinnerin the bar. Staff very helpful. Very dog friendly- they set up breakfast in the morning for us in the bar area so could stay with our dog."
