"We had a very nice stay at the little blue house on the beach. The biggest benefit is its beach view- the house is situated right on the ocean. It's on the quieter/less populated end of Folly Beach so it's the perfect place to visit for a quiet family trip. There were more beach toys/chairs/sand games than we could use given the age of those in our party, but if you have a young family, there are tons of beach toys.The host and property management company were very responsive replacing part of one of the toilets on the first day we arrived and fixing the shower handle to make it easier to operate. Listening to the waves on the deck or on the rooftop patio/deck was also a highlight at night.One of the negatives on the house is that it has seen a lot of wear and tear. The bathrooms could use upgrades, the furniture was partially busted and we couldn't sit in two of the chairs. At arrival, there was also only one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and 2 pods for the washing machine. Definitely bring all of your own cleaning supplies and paper products along with whatever food you'll need. The house is 3 miles from "downtown Folly". Overall, we had a great vacation there for a week and would definitely return with all of our own supplies :)"

"We really enjoyed our stay at this cute little house! It had so much character and it was perfect for our family. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch because when it rained we were still able to be outside and enjoy the ocean view. The kitchen was also easy to manage for being smaller. Diane was a great host and we definitely recommend this spot if you want a smaller ocean front home to stay in that sleeps up to 8 people Also, the water pressure was amazing in the shower which was nice after being at the beach all day."

"Three generations (14 family members) recently stayed at Wakita Wave. The house is beautiful and we had plenty of room to spread out. The beach was close, easy to access and seemed we had a private beach even though it was a busy season. The pool is small, but our six young grandchildren had fun playing in it. Communication was good. We had an issue in the middle of the night and it was quickly addressed the next morning. There are three steep stairways between three stories. There was an elevator but signs stated it was for service use only. The grandparents chose to stay on the main living/kitchen level to limit use of the stairs (still was necessary to use the steps to access beach). We enjoyed great restaurants, shopping and visiting Charleston.We expected the house to be in better condition and had it been, we would have rated it 5 stars. The beautiful kitchen and beach decor distracted from maintenance that needs to be done. We understand that maintenance is probably done in the off season but it was evident that some repairs had waited a long time. We were surprised to see walls that had been patched but not painted, shower rods loose from the wall allowing water to leak outside the tub and sliding doors difficult to open. Most distressing was the mold on shower curtains and a/c vents blowing overhead. Considering the amount we paid for peak season, just one good day of cleaning and repairs would have made a big difference in our overall enjoyment and the rating."

"Overall this is a great location. Very secluded beach with very awesome beach access. Good communication when we had an issue with the dishwasher on a weekend.My biggest issue is in the listing. The pictures don’t quite give a full idea of things. There have been updates but it’s definitely an older cinder block building. The upstairs bathroom has a bathtub (no shower) and toilet. The other things on that floor are the kitchen and dining area and living room. Downstairs are the bedrooms. Three are connected. One is not. There is a tiny bathroom with a pretty nice shower with great water pressure but no toilet. Next door is a not so nice shower with a toilet that’s very hard to get to. My kids were fine on it but I felt claustrophobic using it. There’s a washing machine directly in front of it and if you are a bigger person it’s not going to work for you. Even my 4 year old complained about how tight the fit was.Comes with a baby gate thankfully but the inside stairs are in the middle of the room which is definitely an attractive nuisance. Just an fyi in case you plan to go with younger kids. You can see this in the pictures though. AC did great most of the visit but we had one day that was super hot and humid and the units could not keep up. They do have stand fans in two of the bedrooms that helped a lot when it was still 77 at bedtime. Would I stay here again? Yes. Overall it was worth it for the convenience but I hope they update the downstairs bathroom situation."
